Xenatec Officially Introduces Maybach 57S Coupe, Priced Close to $1 Million
Remember Xenatec, the German coachbuilders who took the overblown Maybach 57 S and massaged it into a svelte looking two door coupe? We now have some pictures of the production model, including a first look at the interior.
Just 100 units of the Xenatec Coupe will be built, with the high asking price of €675,000 (US$923,198) before taxes. And that's even before you add taxes or options. It was designed by Fredrik Burchhardt, who created Maybach's retro-modern Excelero concept back in 2005.
Though the drivetrain remains the same with the four-door Maybach, the bodywork has been significantly reworked. New doors and side panels have been crafted, along with a lowered roofline with more steeply raked front and rear glass. The fenders and bumpers are also new. Another change is the rear track, which has been extended by 20 mm.
The cars will be hand built in Weinsberg, Germany by Karosserie Manufaktur Weinsberg to individual customer specifications. Xenatec enlisted the expertise of armored limousine builders ThyssenKrupp Drauz Nothelfer during the design and engineering stages of the Coupe's development, and worked closely with Maybach also (who no doubt provide the base cars).
The personalization options for the Xenatec Coupe are described as "endless". Most of the options available on the 57 S will be available to Coupe customers, including the full length panoramic glass roof. 21-inch wheels are also available, replacing the standard 21-inchers.
The only question now is, "Will people buy it?" Considering how buyers have clamored over other specialist cars, such as the Ferrari SA Aperta, the answer can only be, "Yes".

The Maybach Exelero is a high-performance concept car designed and built by luxury marque Maybach. The 690 hp (SAE) (514 kW) two-seater with a bi-turbo V12 engine is a one-off design commissioned by Fulda Tyres. Fulda is using this Maybach as a reference vehicle to test a new generation of wide tyres. The German luxury car manufacturer created the one-off model as a modern interpretation of its legendary streamlined car of the 1930s. There are various allusions to the historical predecessor, which was likewise based on a powerful Maybach automobile, in this case the Maybach SW 38, and was also used by Fulda for tyre testing.

Daimler modernises sedan Maybach 57 and limousine Maybach 62
Autoconcern Daimler AG prepares restyling of representation models — sedan Maybach 57 and Maybach 62.
Judging by espionage photos, cars will receive new lattices of a radiator, easy cosmetic changes and, probably, modifed back lanterns. And the basic innovations hidden under a cowl while to see it is impossible.Developers will update electronics and safety systems. Modernise also the engine — will lower level of emission of harmful substances and optimise the fuel expense.
Sales updated Maybach 2010 start in the end of 2009 — the beginning of 2010.

There were photos of new flagman sedan Bentley
On Friday the British edition Car has published espionage photos of new model of company Bentley which will come in the stead of flagman sedan Arnage.
It is expected, that the debut of this car, whose design is executed in stylistics of classical cars of mark, such as R-Type 50th years of the last century, will take place till the end of summer of current year.Now no detailed information on a novelty is present. It is known only, that the car carries code name Project Kimberly, and in a name of a serial sedan, according to magazine Car, the word "Grand" will be probable to be used.
As it was informed earlier, successor Bentley Arnage is planned to construct on deeply modernised modular platform Audi, and also to equip with the powerful eight-cylinder motor and an eight-step automatic transmission of company ZF. It's expected, that the novelty batch production will begin next year. The car will make competition Rolls-Royce Phantom and Maybach.
