Chrysler Group is recalling 150,000 vehicles

A 2011 Dodge RAM 1500 pickup truck poses at the Planet Dodge Chrysler Jeep dealership in Doral, Fla. in this August file photo. Parent company Chrysler is recalling nearly 150,000 trucks and SUVs to address several problems, including steering, air bag issues and a growling rear axle.

Chrysler has announced that it's recalling over 121,000 vehicles in two separate actions. Additionally, the carmaker is also recalling 65,180 Dodge Journey crossovers from the 2009 model year due to faulty wiring. Both recalls are expected to begin in February and Chrysler will repair the axles in Ram 1500 models and replace the both front door wiring harnesses in Dodge Journey models free of charge as necessary.

Here’s the full list of vehicles being recalled. Chrysler Group is recalling 150,000 vehicles, including 22,000 2008-2011 Dodge Ram trucks with steering problems; 65,000 Dodge Journey SUVs with side air bags that may not discharge; and 57,000 2011 Dodge 1500 trucks which may stall due to faulty components in the rear axles. For their part, Ford is recalling 15,000 Ford F-series pickup trucks from 2011 (including the F150, F250, F350, F450, and F550) and some 2011 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX crossovers due to electrical problems that may result in fires.

2011 dodge nitro reviews

Despite its tough name, the 2011 Dodge Nitro is surprisingly wimpy.
Engine: standard engine is 3.7-liter, 210 horsepower V6; 4.0-liter, 260-horsepower V6 optional with Nitro SXT

Acceleration: the standard Nitro has a current 0-60 time of 9.5 seconds, while the rear-wheel-drive 4.0-liter Nitro has a 0-60 time of 7.7 seconds. For 2011, Dodge may up the power of the Nitro, resulting in more competitive acceleration.

Suspension: the live-axle rear suspension on the current Dodge Nitro has received substantial criticism, so changes may be in store for 2011 to give the Nitro a smoother, less trucky ride
The 2011 Dodge Nitro will never be mistaken for a high-performance vehicle. The 2011 Dodge Nitro gives car buyers on budgets a decent option; after all, the base model has a starting price of around $22,000. With so many features-packed crossover SUVs on the market today, the 2011 Dodge Nitro is a tough sell.

The "2011 Dodge Nitro" ranks 23 out of 24 Affordable Compact SUVs. Car reviewers love the 2011 Dodge Nitro’s styling, but they find little else to like about the pugnacious little SUV.
Most affordable compact SUVs are starting to look alike – but not the 2011 Dodge Nitro. The Honda Element has boxy styling, a lower starting price and better fuel economy than the Nitro--For 2011 the Dodge Nitro is little-changed, with the exception of trim names.

rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive are available, as are two engines – a 3.7-liter V6 and a 4.0-liter V6. Until Chrysler official press photos of the new 2011 Dodge Nitro version, we can not really say much about what’s in store for the small SUV.

2011 Dodge Nitro will never be mistaken for a high performance vehicle. There are two parts to the experience of being at the heart of the Dodge Nitro 2011. Dodge Nitro 2011 gives car buyers on budgets a decent option, after all, the basic model has a starting price of about $ 22,000. With so many features packed crossover SUV on the market today, the" 2011 Dodge Nitro" is a hard sell. Lighter, peppier and more vehicles adapted to comparable price tags are available.

2011 Dodge Caliber Reviews

The interior tops the list of owner positives in the 2011 Dodge Caliber, and sadly it’s a very short list.
Weak, harsh engines, clunky and unresponsive transmissions and an overall lack of visibility severely hamper the overall experience of the 2011 Caliber.

It’s the base-level Express trim that really gets the shaft this year, missing out on the electronic steering system revisions as well as newly standard stability control. Heat and Rush trim levels also get thicker rear anti-roll bars as well as retuned shocks. All but the Rush get a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder standard engine, with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder being optional in the Uptown and Standard in the Rush. The Express trim gets a five-speed manual as the only option, while Heat and Rush trims get the option of a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that comes standard in the Mainstreet and Uptown trims.

Body lean is combated well in the Caliber, with confident stability exhibited in smooth corners--Sadly, road noise, wheel noise and especially engine noise disrupt all of this, intruding violently into the cabin.
It has been three years since the initial launching of the Caliber model in the market. Moving over to the engine power, the "2011 Dodge Caliber" is built with a 1.8-liter engine for its base that is coupled with a five-speed manual transmission system as the base option. Pro’s of 2011 Dodge Caliber
2011 Caliber comes with decent fuel economy rating;
-It has a full range of interior features;
-Adaptive driving mechanism to suit any driving situation;
-Dodge 2011 Caliber has met and complied all safety regulations while also earning impressive score on all crash tests.
The 2011 Dodge Caliber is available in trims: Express, Heat, Mainstreet, Uptown, and Rush.

For a crossover/hatchback, the 2011 Dodge Caliber receives excellent fuel economy ratings of 22-24 mpg in the city and 27-32 mpg on the highway. Competing with Toyota Matrix, the 2011 Dodge Caliber sits on standard 15-inch steel wheels, while 17-inch painted aluminum and 18-inch aluminum or chrome-clad wheels are optional.

The 2011 Dodge Caliber seats five occupants in standard cloth or optional leather-trimmed seats.

Other features vary by trim level, and include keyless entry, iPod controls, an audio input jack for mobile devices, leather-trimmed seats, beverage-cooling bin, six-way power driver’s seat, and satellite radio. A voice-activated navigation and audio system (Uconnect), sunroof, heated front seats, and a six-disc CD changer are also available as options.

The New Dogde Viper bringing back for the 2013 model year

A concept version of the next American supercar was shown in September in Orlando, Fla., by Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne to a convention center filled with thousands of people—most of them notoriously talkative car dealers. A common theme emerged: The Dogde Viper had a distinct Italian theme with an unmistakable American presence. The car shown in Orlando was painted bright red and had flashy lights, perhaps LEDs. One source compared it to the 1998 Viper. The "Dogde Viper" factory in Detroit, dubbed the “Snake Pit,” was the new company's first plant to reopen.

Powertrain specifics remain unknown, but a V10 has always been the Viper's signature feature. As Chris Marshall, president of the Dogde Viper Club of America, put it: “The main concern for the true Dogde Viper purists is the big-displacement engine.”

Dogde Viper Nation can rest with some assurance that a new snake is poised to strike in 2012.

"Dodge is bringing back the Dogde Viper for the 2013 model year. In the Detroit News interview Gilles implies the next-generation Viper will be more civilized than the outgoing model, which as every enthusiast knows, has a reputation for raw, brute force". The original Viper debuted 18 years ago with side exhausts and side curtains in place of modern roll-up windows. The outgoing 2010 Viper -- production ended in July -- has a base price of $90,255. New 2012 Hyundai sedan caught on video

Reviving the Dogde Viper is important for preserving Dodge's status in the high-end sports car segment and clarifying Dodge's identity as Chrysler's performance brand. With a sticker price of $90,000-plus, Viper was the ultimate "halo" car. A Dogde Viper comeback was always under consideration, according to Chrysler's November 2009 product plan. "We're extremely excited that our ultimate American sports car and icon of the Dodge brand will continue to live on," said Ralph Gilles, Dodge president and CEO.

Fiat engineers will have a significant role in the new DogdeViper, the Chrysler official familiar with the planning said.
