Hyundai Concept Genesis

The New York Auto Show will be the stage for the world premiere of Hyundai's new luxury sedan, Concept Genesis. This is a significant for the Korean automaker in a number of ways. After nearly 20 years, a rear-wheel-drive vehicle will make a long awaited return to the Hyundai vehicle portfolio, and following the release of the Veracruz SUV, this will be Hyundai's main attempt to enter the North American luxury vehicle segment.

While there are rumors of the Concept Genesis being the next 'Equus', super luxury sedan currently sold only domestically, Concept Genesis actually will take up an E2 Segment position, between the current Azera (E1 segment) and the Equus (F1 segment).

The sketches released indicate that, thanks to the rear-wheel-drive package, the vehicle will have an excellent stance and proportion with short front and rear overhangs, lengthy hood, a slim DLO and a fast, athletic profile.

While still unconfirmed, it is widely expected that a 3-4 litre range V6 engine will be offered as standard with a 4-5 litre V8 offered on the top of the range vehicle.
