Chang'An CV11

Chang'An's first MPV rolled off the production line on March 26 in China, following its preview as a concept four years ago at the Shanghai Motor Show. Since then the MPV market in China has boomed, sales in 2006 a third higher than in 2005. The package and styling of the CV11 are both euro-generic, but is interesting to see a different market embrace them so enthusiastically.

The front of the Chang'An CV11 has a typical six-element down-road-graphic with a central crease feature in the hood, while the side and rear glass shapes mimic the Toyota Corolla Verso. Strangely, the wheel-arches seem imbalanced, the rear pair much thinner than the front. Inside stands a full-height center console, metallic-effect trim and three rows of seats for seven people. Under the hood is a 2-liter petrol motor good for 140PS, shared with the Landwind Fashion launched last year, to which it is closely related. Key dimensions are: length 4410mm, width 1768mm, height 1640mm.
